FTP Procedures for the Macintosh

These procedures are for the Macintosh running Fetch as an FTP program.

1. Open Fetch. To open, locate the application and double click on the Fetch icon.
   

2. Open a new connection. To open, go under the File menu to New Connection.
   

3. Enter the Host name. To enter, type in the server's Host name.
   

4. Enter your User ID. To enter, type in your your User ID.
   

5. Enter your Password. To enter, type in your Password. Note: This is case sensitive and you will not see what you are entering. Please make sure "Caps Lock" is not pressed and enter the characters carefully.
   

6. Leave the Directory field blank. To delete any information that appears in this field, highlight it with the mouse then press the "delete" key on the keyboard.
   

7. Click once on OK.
   

8. The Fetch window will appear. Your files will be put into this directory.
   

9. Click once on Put File...
   

10. Locate your files. To open, click once on the file you want to put on the server.
    

11. Click once on Open.
    

12. Choose the appropriate format for your files from the Format pull-down menu.
    

13. Click once on OK.
    

14. Your files will transfer. To indicate the transfer process, an icon of a dog running will animate on the screen and a clock graphic will advance in the lower right corner.
